Hi, I am Raadhika Let's talk the Paleo diet an easy way to lose weight quickly and keep the weight off

It is known as the caveman diet or hunter-gatherer diet as it based on foods supposedly eaten by our Paleolithic ancestors It's a great diet if you who don't like following too many rules and restrictions Let's start with the Paleo hit list of foods we CAN'T have All processed foods are off the Paleo list This includes bacon, ham, sausages and canola oil It is a gluten free diet as you can't have grains and grain-like seeds

So wheat, rice, oats, barley, rye, corn and millet are out Next, it's dairy free So what do you give up on this dairy free diet? Milk and milk products from cows, goats and sheep – that's butter, cheese and milk You can replace them with dairy free alternatives like nut butters and nut based milk, like almond milk and cashew butter Coconut milk and coconut butter are great Paleo friendly options Legumes are considered to be grain like and aren't allowed on the Paleo diet

These include lentils, all beans like kidney, pinto, soy and fava as well as dried peas like chick peas, that's garbanzo to you, and green peas Bad news about peanuts – it is a legume and not a nut So bye-bye peanut butter Finally, no refined sugar and no artificial sweeteners like saccharine and aspartame are allowed on the paleo diet but you can use natural sweeteners like stevia instead So, that's all the stuff you can't have

Let's look at the list of all the wonderful foods that you CAN eat on the Paleo diet You can have grass fed meats, chicken, duck and turkey; wild fish; organic eggs sweet potatoes, yams and vegetables but no legumes Green beans are legumes, so bye to them as well You can use healthy cold pressed oils like olive oil, avocado oil and coconut oil as part of your diet Finally, fruits and nuts are fine but go easy on them, especially the nuts as they are high in calories

Opting out grains, legumes and refined sugar makes the Paleo a low glycemic index diet The glycemic index measures the effect that carbs have on blood sugar levels Most of the fruits and vegetables on the Paleo diet, like sweet potato and apples have a low glycemic index If you want to lose weight quickly, make your Paleo diet a high protein low carb diet It will also ease unexplained headaches, tummy bloats and some of the symptoms of arthritis Thank you so much for listening
