A question I always get, is about coconut and MCT oils. No doubt they are some of the most popular and beneficial oils used in the Keto diet. People experience weight loss, better mental clarity, increased energy and much more.
It is important to realize that there is a difference between MCT oil and coconut oil. Coconut oil only contains at best 55% of the medium chain triglycerides whereas MCT oil is 100% MTC’s. The remainder of the coconut oil is made up of long chain fatty acids, which are still great for the body. However, these just can’t be absorbed and utilized as quickly as same way that the medium chain fatty acids are utilized.
Coconut and MCT oil benefits keto in a very big way, helping you to produce more ketones than with other oils. This, makes it much easier for you to get into and remain in ketosis as the MCT’s are broken down into ketones.
But, what is the difference between coconut oil and MCT Oil? Which one is better and what for what are each one used for?
