Current Diet and Lifestyle 2017 | Mixing Vegan and Paleo?

Today’s video is chatting about my current diet and lifestyle. I’ve avoided labelling the way that I eat for various reasons (in particular, my relationship with food), but I found a term that really encompasses how I approach food. It’s a mix of vegan and paleo and I think it sums up my CURRENT diet and lifestyle. As with everything wellness related, there is not a one-size-fits-all model so please choose to eat in a way that makes YOU feel good. My wellness journey is constantly shifting and growing (and I’m currently exploring dietary changes to help my body heal from eczema) so it is likely that what I eat may change in the future too.

This is the way that I’ve been eating for the past 2-3 years (before I had even heard of a term to describe it).

Here is more about “Pegan”, the lifestyle term I found in a magazine I was flipping through: A Pegan Diet, a term which I first coined as a parody of extreme diets, takes the best qualities from a vegan diet and combines them with the best qualities from a paleo diet. It focuses on fresh, ideally organic, low-glycemic, mostly plant-based foods. If animal products are consumed, they should be sustainably raised, grass-fed and treated as a condiment or “condi-meat.” The right fats work best when combined with a Pegan Diet.
