KETO FRIED CHEESE BALLS

KETO CHEESE BALLS || DEEP FRIED

Ever since I posted the last few fathead dough recipes on reddit, people have been wondering whether you can deep fry it.. SO, I gave it a try! One of my first keto deep fried recipes!

There are good and bad things about this.. first – I had to use full fat mozzarella, because the extra greasiness helped pinch the dough together in a ball.

Second – a few of my ‘balls’ fell apart in the deep frying process and I’m not sure if it was because I turned down my oil (it was splattering) or if I let them sit out too long before putting them into the deep fryer.

And third – use a sharp cheese!!

Overall I really enjoyed these! Super easy to make! I’ll definitely try again to perfect this recipe.

What you’ll need:

3/4 cup of almond flour
2 cups of 27% fat mozzarella (grated)
7 slices (or 14 cubes) of sharp cheddar or any other kind of flavoured cheese.

Make your fathead dough by melting the mozza and almond flour together either in the microwave or on a non-stick pan on medium/low.

Let it cool off a bit while you cut your slices of cheese. If you used slices of cheese, break each slice in half.. (You will use a half slice for one ball)

Wrap your dough around one half-slice or cube of cheese. Make sure it’s all sealed and no cheese is sticking through.

Immediately throw in your hot oil or deepfryer. Continue with the rest but keep an eye on the fryer.

Turn the ball over if you need to evenly fry them. Once they are a golden brown, take them out!

Enjoy!

Fat: 24.7g
Protein: 17.8g
Carb: 3 (2.5 net)
Fiber: 1.5
