Mutton thokku | Kari thokku | Attu kari thokku in tamil | Mutton recipesMutton thokku or lamb thokku recipe is a delicious yet simple one to make.
At home we use to call it as “Kari thokku”.
This is a typical south Indian style recipe and absolute accompaniment to go with hot rice and also with rotis.
I like this “ Kari thokku” as a side dish for rasam rice ( my favourite combination).

Serve: 2-3 person
Preparation time: 10 mins
Cooking time: 20 mins

Ingredients:
To boil the mutton:
300g mutton
1/2 tsp turmeric powder
1 tsp salt
For thokku:
11/2 Tbsp sesame oil
1 tsp cumin seed
1 onion chopped
2-3 green chilli
1 tsp ginger garlic paste
1 tomato ground to a fine paste
1/2 tsp turmeric powder
1 tsp chilli powder
11/2 tsp coriander powder
1/2 tsp garam masala
Salt
Curry leaves
Coriander leaves
Direction:
Boil mutton with the ingredients given and keep it aside.
Heat oil over medium heat and add cumin seed.
Add onion, green chilli and ginger garlic paste saute well.
Add the ground tomato paste into it and add salt and the masala powders, saute well.
add the boiled mutton and mix well in the masala.
Cover the pan for 3 mins over low heat until the oil separates.
Open and mix well , serve hot with piping hot rice or rotis too.
Its highly recommended as side for rasam rice.
