Hey my name is Amanda Spall and up until this point in my life my diet has been not good. My diet mostly consisted of cereals, pastas and things that are mostly processed. I put on a lot of weight and I was looking for a good change in my lifestyle. I then came across a diet called the Paleo Diet and it caught my interest initially because it was 100% all natural, and the basis of the diet is to eat like a caveman. I know it sounds funny but it is a 100% all natural diet consisting of fruits, vegetables, fish, lean meats and whole grains.

When I first started, I began with Paleo Breakfast Recipes which I found to be the most interesting for me as my breakfast has always consisted of horrible food choices like pancakes and muffins. It was hard first to give up the grains and cereals I was used to eating before. But once I did I cannot tell you how fantastic I felt, how awesome my skin looked and that immediately I started to lose weight especially around my midsection! The Paleo Diet has been incredible successful for me and I just feel completely 100% content with it. What is the paleo diet?

The paleo diet is based on eating natural foods which could be only found back then in the Stone Age, hence is also called “the caveman diet”. It is a diet suitable for athletes who want to pack on muscle or lose weight.

The paleo diet recommends eating foods like:
• Lean protein sources such as lean meats, seafood, eggs, cheese and beans
• Natural fatty food sources such as nuts, oils and animal fats
• High fibre foods such as fruits and vegetables
• Wholegrains such as brown rice and quinoa

The paleo diet tells you to avoid foods like:
• Starchy foods such as breads, pastas and cereals
• Sugary foods such as beverages, sweets and desserts
• Processed foods such as canned foods and salted/pickled food choices
In summary, the diet is based on high protein, high fat and low carbohydrate. It is usually in complement with the type of workout called “crossfit”, which involves high intensity weight training. It has been proven that remarkable results can be achieved through both consistent training and diet.
