Seems like the writers of most diets think that if we just eat less we will lose weight. Well, science has proved that is not really the case. Our bodies are designed with a ‘starvation switch’. This means that when your body notices that your food intake is markedly less, it switches to a conservation mode that allows your body to burn less calories! While this may serve you well on a deserted island, it doesn’t help dieting at all!
Let’s talk about a really tried and true diet formula: The Paleo Diet. You may have heard of this diet, and with good reason. The diet was designed to mimic the diets of early man. Back in the old days (way back) humans ate basic foods; meats and vegetables; some fruits and nuts. That was about it.
