Hey frands! It’s Tali on Day Ten of my Wellness Journey! I’m 1/9 of the way through!
I figured today was as good a day as any to share my progress so far. SO! I started out at 154.8. I am now at… dun dun dun… 147.2! I sound like an infomercial, cause it’s such an unrealistic number, but 7.6 pounds, guys! How’d she do that??
Last couple days, I discussed what I ate and drank, and today, when do I not eat?
Whats #3: Intermittent Fasting
For the most part, we’ve been told to eat multiple small meals throughout the day to keep your metabolism kickin’. But experts are starting to realize that the opposite has more truth to it. When your body is “running on empty,” everything inside comes alive to keep oneself going. All our excess flesh is burned for fuel and:
“Our blood vessels expand so there is more flow of nutrients and oxygen to the blood…And there are all those different hormones that are increasing just to mobilize fat to provide for energy” according to one doctor (credits given in the description).
It’s the oldest trick in the book! People have fasted for spiritual or political reasons, or simply because they were in between caveman jobs, while searching for a good wildebeest. And they survived.
In my personal opinion, I eat more often, not because I’m afraid of running on empty, but because being hungry is stressful! Food has been a source of comfort to everyone on the planet in one way or another. So when you have none, the panic side of our brain says, “I’m going to die if I don’t find me a wildebeest.” Thanks goodness, we have one on every corner now…
So what I try to do is fast between 7:00 PM and 11:00 AM. Once a week, I try to go 24 hours. This week, I lasted 22. I gotta be honest, fasting is my least favorite part of this lifestyle. But the scale certainly has a fondness for it.
Well, y’all, that’s it for today. Feel free to subscribe to my YouTube channel and comment below with your own ideas of intermittent fasting.
